"Locations" are in India

Hello Everyone,
Today's blog is for all the producers, writers, directors who think of going outdoors for shoot, outside India. Since last 5 years,I have travelled to the most beautiful places in India and they are as as beautiful as foreign locations, sometimes even more beautiful. For eg Dehradun, Shimla,Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan.

Travelling to these states must be more feasible then travelling all across to a different country. For any film, to be successful, what matters the most, is the story. So the film shot in a single city like Pune with a good story can become Superhit unlike any film shot in Foreign country with no story, unless the place has some relevance in the story.

I even feel that it is our responsibilty towards our country to help in its development. So when a place becomes famous for certain location for a shoot, the number of films shot there might increase which indirectly help the place to develop the roads, standard of living and the business of localites. It will also help the travel industry. The number of tourist will also increase at that place, which in turn helps in its development.

To give an eg, Pangong Tso lake at Ladakh was shown in 3 Idiots and now look at that place. Its full of tourists from all over the world in the season. So the people staying around do not have to leave their native place in search of work. They can stay at their place and earn.

India is rich of Natural beauty, you just need to find the right place for the right story. Infact, according to me, the award functions that take place abroad, should be held at such places where the place is not yet developed. It might get a reason to be developed because VIP will be attending the functions. There are many villages where there is no electrictiy, water, motorable roads. You might be the reason for the change in that village. Employ the local village people. Just donating money wont help, you know that very well. The actors, directors are at such place where they can influence people. So next time you decide where you want to shoot, suggest new places, be the part of the change yourself and help our country grow. Its your responsibility too,its your country too.

Audience v/s Critics

Hello Friends,
As an active audience,I have watched lot of movies of many languages. But when a movie is released, we wait for a critic review, to decide whether we should watch a film or not.
It has proved many times, that a movie liked by one, is not necessarily liked by other.Because it depends how a person looks at it.For eg.,Tamasha was beautifully crafted film, telling take some time out of your busy work schedule and Live life, dont be a machine. But,thats my point of view.Other person will think, that movie, as waste of time.
Now is the time we should start watching more films.Experience something new.If you watch 10 films, you might like only 5,but if you dont watch it at all, you will miss those 5 beautiful films.
Critics should be given importance upto a certain level.Do not depend upon critic review whether to watch a movie or not, because you are different. You might like the movie, even if critic rating is less.
Be a critic yourself. They divide the movie into good part, bad part. You should go and experience it. Dont tear it apart.Watch movie as your passion, not as a job.It will help you understand the movie better and enjoy it. A lot of hard work goes into movie making. Atleast respect that hard work before you decide it as a bad film. Dont just try to find negative things in a movie. It will help you to be a better judge,a better person in your life.
Critic's job is to present a detailed view about the movie and express his own "personal" views about it, as they are privileged to see the movie before everyone else.He/She should not manipulate you to go and watch the movie or stop you from watching that movie. Its your right to watch each and every film release in this country. So be the decision maker yourself. Sometimes taking a risk proves fruitful. We are in large number, so we decide whether the movie is Hit or Flop, not the critic.
So my personal advice to you all is, watch movies and give our industry a chance to make more good movies,be open to accept something new, experimental.
